 Get the convenience of a checking account with the earning power of a savings account! At Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union you earn monthly dividends if your average daily balance is over $10,000 in your checking account. There are no monthly fees, no minimum balance requirements and no per check charges.

Deposits may be made by convenient direct deposit, payroll deduction, by mail, in person or at the ATM*. Each time you write a check, you'll have a carbonless copy. This makes it easier to balance your checkbook to your monthly statement which lists all checks that have cleared (in check number order!), all deposits and other transactions. To qualify for a Rewards Checking you need an open SMFCU checking account plus the following:
- At least 12 debit card signature-based transactions per month (excluding ATM PIN-based transactions)
- Enrolled in PCSmart (online banking) with E-Statements
- Direct Deposit
Rewards Checking seem to good to be true?? See the Rewards for yourself:
- 5.00%APY on balances up to $25,000
- .50%APY on balances above $25,000
- If you do not meet the qualifications during a given monthly cycle, you will earn the standard yield of .50%APY on balances over $10,000; however you will not receive ATM surcharge refunds for that cycle.

Funds are easily accessible with free personalized checks and no set term or maturity. $2500 minimum balance, $500 minimum withdrawal, and up to 6 withdrawals per month. Dividends are paid monthly on the average daily balance.
